Vacancy: Operations Manager
The Pinelands Community Improvement District is an initiative aimed at advancing the suburb Pinelands, with the goal of providing supplementary services to the local authorities and working closely with them with a special focus on safety and security in public open space, the social upliftment initiatives and top-up cleaning and greening operations.
Reporting to and working closely with the Pinelands CID Board, the Operations Manager is responsible for the effective management of the Pinelands CID area, and the implementation of the Pinelands CID business plan, to achieve operational, strategic, and financial outcomes.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Management role for the NPC on behalf of the Board
- Staff and Supplier management
- Ensuring that the CID meets all statutory regulations.
- Reporting at predetermined intervals to the board, portfolio heads and subcommittees
- Public relations
- Facilitate Public Meetings
- Communications & Marketing
- Logging C3 Service requests
- Relationship management with key stakeholders (Residents, Community organisations, SAPS and City of Cape Town).
- Timeous response to property owner complaints or enquiries
- Maintaining an e-filing system.
- Oversight over Public Safety Officers & Law Enforcement Officers
- Auditing of CCTV Control room and Camera infrastructure
- Contract negotiations
- Developing RFP’s, SOP’s and SLA’s
- On site visits with service providers
- On site meetings with residents and community organisations
- Monthly Reports
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
- Articulate (both spoken language and in writing)
- Business acumen to lead the PLCID operations
- Excellent networker and influencer
- Ability to drive projects to full execution
- Ability to generate ideas and solutions flexibly to meet changing business demands
EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE
- A relevant formal tertiary qualification
- Ability to deal with multiple community stakeholders in a dynamic environment
- Experience managing multiple outsourced service providers
- Safety and security experience, particularly working with SAPS, City of Cape Town law enforcement and armed response providers (advantageous)
- Experience working in a CID environment, understanding of the regulation and policies governing CID operation (advantageous)
- Project management experience (advantageous)
- Highly IT literate, particularly MS-Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as incident management and customer support software
